Lamar and Me, a small volume of remembrances about growing up in Montevallo was published by native son Robert David Ward in 1983. It went out of print shortly after its initial publication. The Montevallo Historical Society is pleased to bring this entertaining collection back to life as a digital pdf file that can be read online or downloaded for free.

The Lives and Times of Kingswood in Alabama 1817-1890, by Golda W. Johnson was published by the University of Montevallo in 1976 following the conclusion of the restoration of the 150 year old "King House" on campus. The book gives an account of the life and times of Montevallo settler, planter, and entrepreneur, Edmund King, who completed the Federal Style house for his family's home in 1823. The book is out of print but you can click on the cover image to open a pdf file of the complete book. For reader convenience, the file was downloaded from the online digital archives of the UM Carmichael Library.
